The opening of The Play Cafe marks a new chapter in our shared commitment to fostering a vibrant, community-centered learning environment. Both Bumi Kecil and The Play Cafe are harmoniously aligned in their approach to integrating learning, play, nature, and community, all inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This exciting collaboration aims to create a seamless connection between education and play, providing enriching experiences for children and their families.

At Bumi Kecil, we have always believed that learning is a communal activity that thrives on the active participation of children, families, and teachers. The Play Cafe extends this philosophy by offering a space where families can come together to engage in creative play, explore natural elements, and build strong social connections. Our shared values ensure that every child who steps into The Play Cafe experiences the same nurturing and stimulating environment that they enjoy at Bumi Kecil. This synergy between our two organisations enriches the educational journey, making it more dynamic and holistic.
The Play Cafe is a place for play.
Since its opening, the Bumi Kecil students can often be spotted playing on the big bamboo boat, named the Friend Ship, trying on costumes and preparing plays in our little theater, getting dirty in the mud kitchen, preparing their own meals in the mini indoor Play Cafe complete with a kitchen set and soft play foods, or climbing on the net structure between the trees! The Play Cafe playground has something for all children as well as a childcare assistant on site to help facilitate play and encourage children to be kind, make friends, and try new things.

The Reggio Emilia-inspired approach that guides both Bumi Kecil and The Play Cafe emphasizes the importance of a close-knit community in fostering children’s development. By encouraging collaboration and interaction within a supportive community, we help children learn from one another, develop social skills, and build a sense of belonging. We are excited to see the growth and connections that will flourish from this partnership, and we warmly invite all families to join us in celebrating the opening of The Play Cafe. The Play Cafe is open 6 days a week from Saturday to Thursday, 8-4pm. In addition to the amazing playground for children, there is a great menu that comes in both kid and adult sized portions and strong wifi for those adults wanting to get a little work done while their children play.
