Cultivating a Green Environment
Our school is designed to be a green haven where students can learn about nature through direct interaction. We have recently planted a garden where the kids participate in planting, watering, and harvesting vegetables and flowers. This hands-on experience teaches them about the life cycle of plants, what plants need to survive and fosters a sense of responsibility toward nature.
Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling
From an early age, students at Bumi Kecil learn to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We encourage families to bring recyclable materials, which we creatively repurpose into art projects and educational tools. This practice not only reduces waste but also sparks creativity and innovation in our young learners. In fact, some of the most amazing projects have started out as a pile of recycled items.
Sustainable Snack Times
Healthy eating and sustainability go hand-in-hand at Bumi Kecil. When possible, we provide organic, locally sourced snacks to our students, offering fresh fruit options every day. This not only supports local farmers but also reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting food from far distances. Additionally, students learn about the benefits of eating fresh, seasonal produce.
Energy and Water Conservation
Teaching students about conserving energy and water is a key part of our curriculum. Simple actions, such as turning off lights and fans when leaving the classroom and using water sparingly, are emphasized daily. We have also installed rainwater collection systems and solar panels to power parts of our facility, providing a tangible example of sustainable practices in action.
