Our Program
At Bumi Kecil, our curriculum is a living guide that shapes learning across both our kindergarten and primary school. It gives direction to the year while staying deeply rooted in our core values, our community, and the children in front of us.
We work with an emergent approach to learning, meaning the interests, questions, and ideas of our students actively shape what happens in the classroom. Children are not just recipients of knowledge, but active participants in their own learning journey.
This way of learning honours each child’s voice and encourages curiosity, confidence, and a sense of ownership as they grow, academically, socially, and emotionally.
Across the day, learning is carefully balanced between guided experiences and self-directed exploration. Literacy, numeracy, science, physical development, and social-emotional learning are woven together in meaningful ways, allowing children to build strong foundations while developing a genuine love for learning that continues into the primary years and beyond.
Classes
At Bumi Kecil, our kindergarten programme welcomes children aged 3–6 years, while our primary programme is designed for children aged 6–9. We work in small mixed-age groups where children learn alongside one another, building confidence, independence, and strong social connections along the way.
Each class is guided by caring educators who create a calm and supportive environment where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. Our days flow between play, project work, outdoor exploration, small group learning, and quiet moments of connection.
As children grow, we look at much more than age when considering class placement. We take time to understand each child as a whole, their confidence, emotional readiness, language development, friendships, and individual learning journey. This thoughtful approach helps children feel seen, supported, and genuinely comfortable in their environment, creating a natural and gentle transition into the primary years.
Playgroup and Kindergarten
Ratio: 15 students to 2 teachers
