Board of Directors
Our board of directors comprises of parents and community members who all share a deep love for Gili Air and Indonesia. They bring individual skills in finance, design, business, and education, helping guide the strategic direction of the school and upholding compliance with all the necessary policies and regulations to ensure the sustainability of the school.
International Education Experts and Therapist
Our team of experts collectively brings over 20 years of experience in Reggio Emilia, early years, primary education, behavioural therapy and community development. Their combined expertise ensures innovative teaching methodologies and a broad cultural understanding, whilst maintaining a dynamic curriculum that adheres to international standards.

Miss Indhie
Hello, I’m Miss Indhie! With 25 years in education, it’s been an incredibly rewarding journey. For the past decade, I’ve had the honour of serving as a principal at every level, guiding students from their earliest learning experiences to their preparation for future endeavours.
What truly defines my passion, and what has undeniably captured my heart, is observing children as they process information and develop over the years and celebrating each milestone along their unique path. When I step away from the classroom, I love exploring different islands and connecting with new people.
I’m looking forward to collaborating as partners in your children’s lives. and making their educational journey truly exceptional!

Mr. Riktor - Supernovas Teacher

Hi, I’m Riktor, originally from Lombok. I graduated with a degree in English from Airlangga University and have been passionate about educational volunteering since high school!
I’m excited to be part of Bumi Kecil—teaching here truly feels like a blessing, with fresh air and nature all around. I’m passionate about performing arts and music, and you’ll definitely see my creative side when I’m with children! I love learning about each student’s unique personality, and I’m always eager to help them explore and express who they are.
Ms. Shopia - Nebulas Teacher

Hi! I’m Shopia, from Jakarta, with a degree in language education. I have been teaching since 2022 and have experience working with children from 2 to 5 years old.
I believe in learning through play and meaningful connections. Outside the classroom, I love being in nature, hiking, diving, and taking slow walks.

I believe that nature provides a rich backdrop for learning, and i love to use the natural resources all around us on beautiful Gili Air.
I enjoy creating engaging activities that involve movement and hands-on science experiments, as I believe these experiences make learning more enjoyable and effective for my students.
Ms. Ega - Supernovas Teacher

Hi there! I am Miss Ega. I grew up in sunny Pekanbaru, Riau! I have been teaching in both Kindergarten and Primary Schools for more than 9 years. This year, I am excited to be teaching the pre-primary students, helping them prepare for the next stage in their learning journey.
I love animals, especially cats (I have 11 of them!), and am excited to explore the natural world of Gili Air.
I’m passionate about discovering each student’s individual strengths and helping them gain the confidence to grow and learn.

Our Location
Located in the tranquil northwest of the island, Bumi Kecil is a captivating outdoor space spanning 4,000 square meters, a natural wonderland shaded by the canopies of ancient trees. This acre of land hosts an array of natural play spaces that invite exploration, offering children the chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors.
Through this immersive outdoor experience, Bumi Kecil aims to instill a profound appreciation for the environment. The school believes that by allowing students to explore, play, and learn in this unique natural setting, they not only acquire academic knowledge but also develop a sense of responsibility and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Classrooms
Amidst the sprawling natural expanse, Bumi Kecil boasts two thoughtfully designed classrooms, each spanning 38 square meters. These unique learning spaces featuring roofs crafted from natural bamboo and alang alang, seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment in creating a beautiful connection with the outdoors.
Embracing an ecological approach to education, the open-plan design floods the classrooms with natural light, creating an inspiring atmosphere that stimulates young minds. Wooden and natural toys populate the space, providing tools for tactile exploration and fostering creativity.
